Outdoor Learning & Exploration
Our outdoor environment serves as an extension of the classroom, offering opportunities for climbing, running, imaginative play, gardening, and purposeful exploration. Children engage with the space daily, developing physical coordination, independence, and social skills. We encourage children to connect with nature and the community, exploring the high school gymnasium, track, baseball fields, and garden, as well as nearby community spaces. |
Meals & Nutrition
We provide a nutritious mid-morning snack and lunch in accordance with USDA guidelines. All staff maintain current Food Handler certifications to ensure safe food preparation and handling. Meals are served family-style, allowing children to practice self-care, independence, and social skills within a supportive environment. Families are not required to provide food. For children with dietary restrictions, the Director collaborates with families to provide appropriate accommodations. |
Creative Discovery Time
During this unhurried part of the day children are free to explore, imagine, and create. Through open-ended, hands-on experiences, children engage in meaningful play that nurtures creativity, problem-solving, and a natural curiosity about the world around them. In a thoughtfully prepared environment, children build early foundations in language, math, and science in natural, age-appropriate ways, often woven into storytelling, nature exploration, and artistic activities. This time nurtures focus, coordination, and social skills while allowing each child to move at their own pace. Teachers provide gentle guidance and inspiration, fostering wonder, confidence, and a joy of learning. |
